We can all admit there are those times where we want to load a Billie Eilish or XXXtentacion album on Spotify and listen to the dreary music that they’re famous for.

However, if you have done this you might relate to the fact that the gloomy songs you listen to will be reflected in your emotions and even your attitude.

This will not be healthy, especially if you maintain this for an extended period of time.

On the other hand, a similar effect can happen when listening to more happier songs!

Studies done by organizations like the Journal of Positive Psychology proves upbeat music positively influences people’s mood and emotions.

Keeping a habit like this for as little as 2 weeks can boost your happiness exponentially!

As cheesy as it is, your body is your temple.

Obviously sleeps helps you feel rested for the day following.

But there are many other benefits that are often overlooked.

The amount you sleep will determine not only your short term, but also long term health.

Keep a healthy diet!

Stay away from fried foods that makes you feel heavier.

To expand, “heavy” foods are things that are fried, oily, greasy, and essentially make you feel sluggish.

Instead, eat more “light” foods!

Clean ingredients like vegetables and fruits make you feel light and ultimately enlighten your mood and confidence.

That being said, a general rule you can follow is to eat less brown and yellow colored foods and more food that is green and red.

This will make sure you are energized and feeling for the rest of the day.

Staying as fit as you can will not only make you look better, but also feel better.

We would recommend spreading that across 5 days, aiming for at least 30 minutes per session.

A very commonly overlooked aspect of a healthy lifestyle is good posture.

Once you look at how much it affects you in the short term AND long term, you’ll soon realize that it should be kept at a bit more importance.

For example, young people tend to ignore it because we don’t feel the effects of a slouched spine at the moment, but once you get older you will regret not taking it more seriously.

Having difficulty walking, sitting and constantly having neck and back pains does not seem like a good time right?

To avoid this, we would recommend always keeping your back and neck straight whenever and wherever you are.

If you are sitting down, try to sit near the edge of the chair.

This will naturally force you to keep a straighter back.

If you work a lot on the computer, make sure your setup is ergonomically-friendly and keep the top of the screen to be parallel with your eyes.

By doing this your neck will be less crooked throughout those long hours of staring at your monitor.

In terms of sleeping, try to sleep on your back as this has the least strain on your body!

And when you walk throughout the day, remind yourself to stand straight with your chest up and shoulders relaxed.

A bonus benefit is that a person with good posture automatically looks and feels more confident.

Implementing these small changes will soon become a habit of yours and you will instantly look and feel more confident.

5. Keep the Good People and Turn Down the Bad


You are the average of your social circle.

To elaborate, the people you surround yourself with will have a huge impact on what type of individual you will be.

This includes your friends, family, coworkers or anyone you interact with on a consistent basis.

A good analogy for this is if both your family and coworkers always go out to eat Chinese food, you will be much more likely to eat that big plate of chow mein for lunch.

These people have the potential to ruin all the progress made from other habits you developed to build your confidence.

Similarly, if the people around you are influencing you to develop bad habits and constantly dragging you down both physically and emotionally, it might be best to limit your time around them.

And instead keep yourself more occupied with the people who are the opposite.

These are the people you look up to, their presence makes you a happier person in general and make you make you want to become a better person.

They should motivate and encourage you to do your best in life.

If you are forced to stay in an environment with more “toxic” people, try your best to not let them influence your decisions and your mentality.

They can say negative things about you but as hard as it is, try to take it with a grain of salt.

You must do your best to not let people like this drag your morale down.
